Yes, we named the business after the family dog.
Koda loves to play tug-o-war and is prone to having the zoomies!
He is more than just a pet. He is an integral member of our family and we want to keep him healthy and happy for as long as possible!
​At Koda Thermal Imaging, we understand how much others love their pets, too. We want to help veterinarians and pet owners give these pets the best possible care so they can also live long, healthy, happy lives!

Melany Sutherland

I am passionate about animals. All of them. Cuddly. Grumpy. Domestic. Exotic. Wild. Young. Old (especially the old ones). I am passionate, too, about trying to make their lives as comfortable and happy as possible. So, when I discovered the world of digital thermal imaging, I realized I had found an inspiring and unique way to utilize my skills as a Registered Veterinary Technician and an educator to help veterinarians and pet owners care for these amazing animals.
I have been an animal care giver for more than 25 years and an RVT for 18 of those. I have a BS in Education from the University of Kansas, an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Maple Woods, and a MAT in Conservation Biology from Miami University. An experienced classroom teacher and wildlife rehabilitator, I am also an avid traveler and a certified SCUBA diver. My husband and I have twin daughters, a pit mix (Koda), and two cats.
